Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty end lower dragged by HDFC Bank, RIL

In the volatile session on September 18, the Indian benchmark indices ended lower as caution creeped into the markets ahead of key central bank decisions globally.
HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Ultratech Cement, Wipro, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Kotak Bank, and Tech Mahindra declined between 0.5 per cent and 2 per cent on the Sensex. On the 50-pack index, Hindalco, Dr Reddy's Labs, Adani Ports, and Adani Enterprises were the other laggards.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 67596.84 down by -241.79 points or by -0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 20133.3 down by -59.05 points or by -0.29 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 67803.15 and intraday low of 67532.83 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 20195.35 and intraday low of 20115.7
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 200.05,+3.01%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3339.20,+2.73%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1643.25,+2.65%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 241.25,+2.07%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1559.15,+1.35%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1629.05,-1.98%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 920.40,-1.71%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1491.10,-1.40%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 8609.10,-1.36%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 130.45,-1.21%), among others.
_PSU index was at 12541.4 up by 162.97 points or by 1.32%. KIOCL Ltd. (Rs. 314.55,+19.99%), Indian Overseas Bank (Rs. 46.55,+17.85%), UCO Bank (Rs. 46.48,+14.99%), Punjab & Sind Bank (Rs. 49.85,+11.57%), Central Bank of India (Rs. 51.70,+9.93%),.
Realty index was at 4633.63 down by -59.39 points or by -1.27%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1620.10,-2.45%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 775.05,-2.42%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 607.95,-1.70%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 76.80,-1.59%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1161.25,-1.03%),.
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4223 , shares advanced were 1841 while 2170 shares declined and 212 were unchanged.
