The domestic equity benchmarks continued to extend losses during the noon trading session as negative global cues dented the investors sentiment.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,565.93 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs), were net buyers to the tune of Rs 2,664.98 crore in the Indian equity market on 1 December, provisional data showed.

Meanwhile, on the economy front, the gross GST revenue collected in the month of November 2022 is Rs 1,45,867 crore of which CGST is Rs 25,681 crore, SGST is Rs 32,651 crore, IGST is Rs 77,103 crore (including Rs 38,635 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is Rs 10,433 crore (including Rs 817 crore collected on import of goods). The revenues for the month of November 2022 are 11% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year, which itself was Rs 1.31,526 crore

At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 62738.3 down by -545.89 points or by -0.86 % and then NSE Nifty was at 18647.3 down by -165.2 points or by -0.88 %. Sensex touched intraday high of 63148.59 and intraday low of 62679.63 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 18781.95 and intraday low of 18639.2

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 112.05,+1.22%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1110.20,+0.76%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 4487.95,+0.35%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1642.25,+0.20%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 172.35,+0.09%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1263.00,-2.35%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2616.60,-1.73%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3420.00,-1.59%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 927.25,-1.35%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 19796.20,-1.27%), among others.

Metal index was at 20747.95 up by 134.73 points or by 0.65%. APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 1170.45,+3.35%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 315.15,+1.60%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 112.05,+1.22%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 86.55,+0.82%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 78.30,+0.45%),. Power index was at 4612.38 down by -53.25 points or by -1.14%. Adani Transmission Ltd. (Rs. 2738.80,-3.31%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 2731.05,-1.64%), Adani Green Energy Ltd. (Rs. 2079.95,-1.55%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 2950.55,-1.34%), Adani Power Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3665 , shares advanced were 1906 while 1557 shares declined and 202 were unchanged.
