Uttam Sugar Mills Q4 net profit down 39.80% at Rs 42.14 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 42.14 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024 as compared to Rs 70.00 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year decline of 39.80 per cent.
Net revenue of the company declined moderately by 11.81 per cent at Rs 465.15 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 527.42 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During January-March quarter, operating expenses dropped by 7.95 per cent to Rs 382.66 crore from Rs 415.71 crore in year ago period.
Other Income dipped by 9.63 per cent at Rs 2.44 crore versus (Mar'23 Rs 2.70 crore).
Operating Profit slipped by 26.16 per cent to Rs 82.49 crore as against Rs 111.71 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 16.29 per cent in March quarter.
Interest grew by 40.25 per cent y-o-y to Rs 16.76 crore, while Taxation decreased by 34.85 per cent at Rs 15.18 crore (Mar'23 Rs 23.30 crore).
