Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty slip into red; Infosys, ITC down 1%

The key benchmark indices had pared gains in noon deals owing to weakness in select index heavyweights like Infosys and ITC.
Among the Sensex 30 stocks, SBI, NTPC and Maruti were the major gainers, up 2-3 per cent each. IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel and Bajaj Finance were the other notable gainers. Meanwhile, UltraTech Cement and Asian Paints slipped around 2 per cent each. Tech Mahindra, Infosys and ITC were the other losers.
At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 52770.41 down by -23.21 points or by -0.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 15862.8 up by 80.65 points or by 0.51 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 53428.28 and intraday low of 52632.48 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 15977.95 and intraday low of 15739.65
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 147.15,+2.15%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7249.85,+2.08%), State Bank of India (Rs. 454.30,+2.08%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1799.05,+1.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 897.25,+0.93%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 6049.60,-2.42%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 3001.45,-2.08%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 254.50,-1.60%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 16147.00,-1.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1183.70,-1.55%), among others.
Realty index was at 3109.79 up by 51.65 points or by 1.69%. Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 923.75,+7.38%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 533.80,+5.45%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 421.45,+3.44%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 324.40,+1.80%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1363.00,+1.55%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3624 , shares advanced were 1952 while 1465 shares declined and 207 were unchanged.
