The key benchmark indices were volatile in Friday's trade and were moving within a range. Sectorally, Metals, Auto, Media and Pharma indices on the Nifty led gains, rising upto 2 per cent. Remaining pockets were also firmly in green. Nifty IT, Realty, Energy and FMCG were other notable gainers.

At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 53031.25 up by 100.94 points or by 0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 15846.6 up by 38.6 points or by 0.24 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 53785.71 and intraday low of 52994.96 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 16083.6 and intraday low of 15837.35

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 879.85,+3.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 891.85,+3.12%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2207.30,+3.10%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2100.00,+2.52%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 258.70,+2.27%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 449.15,-2.88%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 145.30,-2.22%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 681.05,-2.13%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 694.75,-1.56%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 639.50,-1.52%), among others.
