Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the morning trading session supported by buying in Media, autos and IT stocks.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 5,255.75 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs), were net buyers to the tune of Rs 4,815.64 crore in the Indian equity market on 12 May 2022, provisional data showed.

At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 53439.91 up by 509.6 points or by 0.96 % and then NSE Nifty was at 15964.8 up by 156.8 points or by 0.99 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 53625.25 and intraday low of 53131.69 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 16032.3 and intraday low of 15886.6

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2127.00,+3.84%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 897.35,+3.75%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 874.80,+2.90%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1565.00,+2.67%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2463.25,+2.59%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 145.00,-2.42%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 695.95,-1.39%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 692.30,-0.52%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 234.65,-0.45%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 471.80,-0.42%), among others.

Auto index was at 23967.53 up by 791.99 points or by 3.42%. Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 407.10,+9.41%), Ashok Leyland Ltd. (Rs. 123.95,+5.58%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 629.40,+4.38%), MRF Ltd. (Rs. 70164.45,+3.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 897.35,+3.75%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3310 , shares advanced were 2439 while 760 shares declined and 111 were unchanged.
