Headline : Sensex surges 350 pts, Nifty tests 22,100; RIL up 2%

Indian Equity benchmark indices were seen holding steady gains in Wednesday's intra-day trade amid mixed cues from global peers.

Reliance was the top mover among the Sensex 30 pack, up 1 per cent. It was followed by Maruti, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Axis Bank and Larsen & Toubro. On the other hand, Wpro, Nestle India and HDFC Bank were marginally in red.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72822.8 up by 352.5 points or by 0.49 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22101.8 up by 97.1 points or by 0.44 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 72868.12 and intraday low of 72600.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22104.7 and intraday low of 22052.85

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2946.00,+2.14%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12460.00,+1.66%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3736.10,+0.97%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1047.60,+0.66%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2255.00,+0.64%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 477.35,-0.50%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1488.00,-0.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1251.00,-0.22%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 820.00,-0.18%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1215.90,-0.01%), among others.

Oil&Gas index was at 27787.98 up by 396.07 points or by 1.45%. Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2946.00,+2.14%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 170.45,+1.76%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3213 , shares advanced were 2081 while 996 shares declined and 136 were unchanged.
