Equity markets started on a tepid note Tuesday amid a largely muted trend in Asia. HCL Tech, M&M, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, and Bajaj Finserv were the top gainers on the Sensex, while Power Grid, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, and Titan were the top laggards.

At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72550.53 down by -281.41 points or by -0.39 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22037.05 down by -59.7 points or by -0.27 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 72705.29 and intraday low of 72363.03 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22073.2 and intraday low of 21947.55

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6902.10,+2.06%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1609.10,+1.37%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 989.60,+1.03%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1518.70,+0.64%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 326.20,+0.38%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 269.20,-2.36%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12185.95,-1.22%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1224.55,-0.91%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2886.60,-0.80%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9612.00,-0.77%), among others.
