The key equity indices traded in a narrow range with modest gains in the afternoon trade. Positive global cues boosted investor sentiments. The Nifty hovered above the 18,800 mark. IT, media and metal shares advanced while FMCG, pahrma and auto shares declined.

At 14:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 63316.7 up by 217.05 points or by 0.34 % and then NSE Nifty was at 18834.85 up by 76.5 points or by 0.41 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 63583.07 and intraday low of 63183.77 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 18887.6 and intraday low of 18778.2

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 110.80,+2.88%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 7267.50,+2.70%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1148.10,+2.44%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3473.55,+2.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1102.50,+2.34%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 937.10,-1.71%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 221.85,-0.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1296.30,-0.83%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2659.15,-0.78%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2634.75,-0.57%), among others.
