Headline : Pre-Session: Flat start likely for Indian markets amid weak global cues

The Sensex and Nifty indices are likely to open on a flattish note on Wednesday amid quiet global market trends. Futher in the primary market, Dharmaj Crop Guard IPO was subscribed more than 5 times on Tuesday, a day before its close.

Uniparts India’s Rs 835 crore IPO will open for subscription today. The price band is fixed at Rs 548-577.

In the secondary market, IDFC will be in focus after SEBI gave it the nod to hand over IDFC Mutual Fund to a consortium led by Bandhan Financial Holdings.

Zomato will also be eyed as the Alibaba Group is said to sell 3 per cent stake worth $200 million in the company through a block deal today.

On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 62681.84 up by 177.04 points or by 0.28 % and then NSE Nifty was at 18618.05 up by 55.3 points or by 0.3 %. On the global front, In the US, the Nasdaq lost 0.59 per cent overnight, while the S&P 500 shed 0.16 per cent. The Dow closed 0.01 per cent higher.

In Asia this morning, stocks were broadly mixed. Hang Seng rose 0.6 per cent, Strait times was flat, while Nikkei and Topix declined 0.7 per cent each.

Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – Tata Steel Ltd. 40661568.00, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. 13558920.00, ICICI Bank Ltd. 13096845.00, ITC Ltd. 10189855.00, Tata Motors Ltd. 8630105.00, On NSE, total number of shares traded was 30.05 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 50952.75 Crore.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 210522 with a total turnover of Rs. 20958.30 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 649657 with a total turnover of Rs. 44958.76 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 148683721 with a total turnover of Rs. 13642278.72 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 2529161 with a total turnover of Rs. 183060.22 Crore.

The FIIs on 29/11/2022 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 9772.50 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 550.82 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 7157.52 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 320.01 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 2614.98 Crore and Rs. 230.81
