Indian benchmarks continued its choppy trade during the late morning deals amid mixed global cues. Among sectors, bank and metal down 1 percent each, while oil & gas, power, auto, capital goods up 0.5-1 percent.

Among key stocks, Jindal Steel and Power tumbled 3 percent as it reported a near-21 percent year-on-year fall in its Apr-Jun consolidated net profit as a result of higher expenses and weak prices. RBL Bank declined 2.4 percent after as much as 7.95 percent stake in the bank was sold through a block deal on the exchanges.

At 11:24 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 79771.2 down by -377.68 points or by -0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24324.2 down by -89.3 points or by -0.37 %.

In the volatile trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 79798.44 and intraday low of 79477.83 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24332.45 and intraday low of 24210.80.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1079.00,+5.00%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3605.25,+2.44%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1764.75,+1.07%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1494.50,+0.68%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 339.30,+0.64%), among others.

Whereas, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1158.60,-6.55%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1199.20,-1.92%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3410.15,-1.81%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2507.10,-1.44%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 158.00,-1.43%), among others.

Among the sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 31676.19 up by 795.31 points or by 2.58%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 580.95,+7.00%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 333.10,+4.26%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 368.00,+4.01%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 324.20,+2.92%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 173.60,+2.87%),.

On the flip side, CDS index was at 59095.17 down by -570.8 points or by -0.96%. Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3411.25,-1.78%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 579.40,-1.40%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1483.95,-1.08%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 10867.60,-1.08%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (Rs. 319.20,-0.93%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3979 , shares advanced were 2012 while 1816 shares declined and 151 were unchanged.
