Headline : Sensex, Nifty in red; Bajaj Fin down 3%

India's stock market is now trading in negative territory after flat opening on Wednesday morning. All sectoral indices are trading in the green except auto, bank and FMCG. BSE Midcap index up 0.5 percent and Smallcap index up 1.6 percent.

On the corporate front, ITC share price hit a record high of Rs 510.60 as it rallied nearly 4 per cent on the BSE in Wednesday's intraday trade. ITC stock has gained 10 per cent in two days in an otherwise subdued market.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products fell 2.4 percent after announcing a rights issue. Axis Bank, Bajaj FinServ and Larsen & Toubro were moving lower ahead of their earnings results.

At 10:23 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80303.5 down by -125.54 points or by -0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24441.15 down by -37.9 points or by -0.15 %.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1027.30,+2.59%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 391.80,+2.47%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1515.80,+1.47%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 338.10,+1.23%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 497.85,+1.18%), among others.

On the flip side, the top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6559.85,-2.56%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1584.40,-2.06%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2768.45,-1.93%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2716.30,-1.81%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2541.40,-1.51%), among others.

On the sectoral front, Oil&Gas index was at 30927.75 up by 560.64 points or by 1.85%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 325.25,+3.58%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 551.35,+3.27%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 311.60,+1.85%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 556.90,+1.53%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 351.45,+1.50%),.

Among others, Bankex index was at 58987.01 down by -366.96 points or by -0.62%. Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1246.25,-1.31%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1216.70,-0.90%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 196.60,-0.71%), State Bank of India (Rs. 858.35,-0.64%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1403.50,-0.63%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3860 , shares advanced were 2701 while 977 shares declined and 182 were unchanged.
